4.) Audio Mood Track- using the links on the Audacity Page, download tracks that refect each of the following moods/actions--Happiness, Anger, "Walking Along", Suspense, "Tripping Out"-- must be sites that have music that is "free for use".-- due October 13th.

5.) Storyboarding- create a 10 panel storyboard of a video using.
Steps:
a.) Review story here
b.) Create a plan (Google docs/Open Office) of the 10 (15 max) panels or main ideas that you would use to develop a film.
c.) In Gimp, do a quick draw of each panel- export as jpeg-- name each picture as PANEL 1, PANEL 2, etc.
d.) Insert images into Google Presentation-- 1 slide for each panel-- include text that explains the image and possible sounds that would be involved.
e.) Share Presentation with me.

June 2010 CPT 10 stuff

1.) Remember to complete all Blog entries under Teacher Assignments!

2.) History of Media

Using Google Presentation or Prezi, you and a partner will research and present the history/present/future of one type of media.
Your presentation will answer the following questions:
1. When was this form of communication invented?
2.) By whom?
3.) For what purpose?
4.) What materials/equipment/skills were used to create the communication media at it's beginning? Include a brief description of how the media works.
5.) Is there a future for this media? Where do you think it will go?

Include pictures/videos in your presentation-- you will also be marked on presentation design, so no ugly colours or hard to read text!

3.) Audio Mix

Using a minimum of 5 song tracks, you will make an audio mix track using Audacity between 3-4 minutes long.
Techniques will include cutting and pasting, mixing segments together, and inserting effects.
Obviously, you will not use all the segments of each song to create your own custom track.
You must use 4 effects within your song.

As you insert effects, please use Word or Google docs to record in the time count where each effect is inserted.

Due- Thursday, March 17th

4.) Audio Story

Using the Sound Effects folder provided, you will choose individual effects with the program Audacity to create an Audio Story.
You may also find other sound effcts from other sources. Reminder to follow copyright law.
The audience must be able to visualize the storyline as they listen to your various effects.
Export the project as a .wav file when completed.
Length- 2-3 minutes

7.) 6.) Major Film Project- Project Length- 5-10 minutes. Submit all of the following assignments meeting ALL DEADLINES!

i.) Develop a film treatment which will include the following elements: (Google Docs)
  • The working title of your idea
  • The type of your creation (video short, commercial, animation)
  • The Target Audience
  • The goals and objectives of your production (Is it to entertain, to persuade, to inform... provide detail here. I need to know what you intended to do (general outline... so a simple "to entertain" is not enough)
  • Setting and/or Resources - list the locations you may need for shooting if you have a video project in mind, or resources/software you might need if you have an animation project in mind.
  • The crew or production team - of the three or four people, who will be doing what through all three stages of production
  • Deadlines- Approx dates to complete your storyboard, script, film production. Editing must be completed and project handed in by JUNE 8, 2011
  • Pitch your idea to the class as soon as you completed writing the treatment.
  • You may want to find examples of your idea on Youtube-- include the link(s) within your Google doc

ii.) Develop a storyboard using Google Presentation
  • 12 panels minimum- panels should indicate scene changes or significant shots involved in the production
  • Each panel will include:
    • Sketches of the scene- character location, background, description of location
    • type of shot, camera location (if top view)- lightning used
    • background music type (mood)
    • dialogue (summary version- character A asks character B where he/she is going)
  • One storyboard per group- share your google presentation with other members of the group and each do different panels.
  • Use GIMP to draw the scenes, save as JPEGS and insert into each slide.
